Proof

Proof is a five-part audio drama about the daughter of a brilliant but mentally disturbed mathematician, who must face the fact that she might inherit his insanity. It is based upon a story that was original performed as a Broadway play and subsequently made into a motion picture.

Catherine has lived in the shadow of her father, Robert: a once brilliant and much admired mathematician. She had her own career in mathematics waiting for her, but once Robert fell ill with a mental instability, she sacrificed her studies in order to care for him. And now, following his untimely death, she is left to deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged, cosmopolitan sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of Robert's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that Robert left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness – or genius – will she inherit?
