Description
The Hitch-Hiker is a modern adaptation of a classic radio theater production originally written by Lucille Fletcher and broadcast on the Orson Welles Show on CBS Radio on November 17, 1941. The story was also adapted for an episode of The Twilight Zone in 1960.
Ronald Adams, an average motorist, sets out to drive from Brooklyn to California. But early on, he encounters a strange man, seemingly wanting a lift. Ronald ignores him, but encounters him again an hour later down the road. Then, several points along his journey, he sees him again and again, despite the fact that logically, there is no possible way the man could always be ahead of him. Ronald grows increasingly terrified of the appearances of the hitchhiker. And as he tries to avoid, and finally eliminate the phantom, he will encounter a terrifying truth when his journey comes to an end…
