Fairy Tales for Unwanted Children is a storytelling podcast featuring original short fairy tale-style stories, but with darker, more unsettling themes.

We turn to stories to comfort us, tucking us safe any warm away from the world in a fantasy of security.

But the original fairy tales were dark, warning us about the world and the dangers that awaited us, both real and imagined. Happy endings are for favourite children – the ones that get the thickest slice of cake, only wear the new clothes, and the ones who get invited to the ball.

These stories are not for those children.

Sometimes “happily ever after” is no guarantee. We feature short fairy tales that turn towards the dark and unsettling. These stories are not intended for children.
